In your own words, define "self portrait": -A representative of yourself and the things that you like to do. 5. That was my first soccer game that I attended with my dad, brother, and my dad's friend. It was Chicago Fire vs Houston Dynamo on Halloween. Even though Chicago Fire lost 2-1, I still enjoyed spending the time in the game with everyone. |

In your own words, define "luxury." -Something that is valuable to you. 3. List the material items you possess that you consider a necessity (aside from food, water, shelter, air). -INTERNET access -Game console -Computer -Portable device 4. List the material items you possess that you consider a luxury. - Home -Clothes - Cars 5. Choose one item from your list of necessities and make an argument for why you can live without it. - I can live without the portable device because besides that, I have everything that I want. I don't need a portable device if I have a computer with internet access at home, I don't need a portable device if I have a game console to keep me satisfied. 6. Explain why the item from question 5 is a necessity. - This is a necessity because it is popular at this time and everyone possesses one. Phones are actually very useful and they grant access to mostly everything that you would wish to know. A consumer is a person who purchases goods and services for personal use. 7. Can a person consume too much (in terms of material goods, not just food)? -Yes, because maybe at the time that the person bought that material they might not having been thinking through it, and it will later on become useless to them. 8. How does consumption negatively impact the city/country/world? - Too much greed. Many countries fight for resources like oil and end up in wars. Consumptions can drive people crazy and can end up making that person do anything in order to get what they want. Consumptions can be good, but deadly. 9. How does consumption positively impact the city/country/world? - It can help you, or everyone around you. For example oil, oil is used for many things from cars to machinery. Oil is something that every country wishes for because of how useful it is. Other consumptions can be food. You can help yourself to food, or serve other people food. Some consumptions can be very useful. |
